While 2020 was characterized by one breaking news story after another, the year began for us with a trip that, in retrospect, will probably be our last great experience for a long time. Or at least an experience that we will never forget. Regardless of all other circumstances.

Last year, on a two-week trip through Guatemala, we produced the short documentary "Coffee for Life." The film provides insights into the cultivation of fair trade coffee that are more personal and intimate than most know. We had the chance to be very close to the Guatemalan smallholder farmers and their families, accompanying them as they work and live in a remote world.

FIND OUT WHAT IT’S WORTH

All footage was captured handheld by the two of us (Lennart and Wilhelm), as we traveled with really small camera set ups to be as flexible as we can. Along our journey, we met people that really earn to be paid fair rates for their hard work. And we also met those, who passionately support the farmers and their families. The organization Manos Campesinas supports Guatemala’s smallholders by organizing and developing their work and selling their product to customers abroad.

The documentary „Coffee for Life“ creates awareness for the elaborate process of coffee production and provides a personal insight into the lives of the people behind it.
